Custom Orthotics

The principle of a custom foot orthotic in most cases rests on improving the biomechanics of the foot and the kinetic chain of the lower extremity. The kinetic chain is the mechanical interrelationship between connected limbs in the body. Each segment of the chain affects the other segments in the chain. It is for this reason that orthotics can be used to treat conditions in the knee hip and back – several joints away from the orthotic or insole. Precisely for this reason, it is important that the whole kinetic chain be taken into account when making orthotics or custom insoles.

ORTHOTICS CAN HELP RELIEVE PAIN CAUSED BY THESE CONDITIONS:

  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Plantar Fasciitis (heel pain)
  • Metatarsalgia
  • Claw Toes
  • Pronation (flat feet)
  • Supination (high arch feet)
  • Bunions
  • Tibialis Posterior
  • Dysfunction
  • Shin pain
  • Knee problems

Compression Hose / Socks / Stockings

Compression stockings are specially designed to apply pressure to your lower legs, helping to maintain blood flow and reduce discomfort and swelling

Benefits of compression stockings:

  • Help improve blood flow.
  • Help keep fluid from pooling in the legs.
  • Help relieve symptoms caused by varicose veins, skin ulcers, and deep vein thrombosis.
  • Help prevent problems caused by things like skin ulcers.
  • Will help the most if you wear them every day while you’re awake, especially while you’re on your feet.

How do you use compression stockings?

Compression stockings can be a part of your daily routine. If they fit right, they should be snug but comfortable.

It’s best to wear them all the time unless you are bathing or sleeping. Plan on replacing your stockings every 4 to 6 months.

Orthopedic Braces

Orthopedic braces are objects made of rigid materials, such as hard plastics, and soft materials such as spandex or other tightly-knit fabrics designed to inhibit the movement of a joint. The purpose of a brace is to ensure that a joint is unable to move beyond a certain range of motion, or in some cases at all.
